Before..... (blogger is misbehaving tonight...this is the only "before" shot that will post correctly!)
After.....with all the satin stitches added in the double-sawtooth border!
The color of the linen in this next picture is the most accurate!
I am much happier now. What a relief that I realized that I had forgotten those satin stitches before it was framed!
Your finish is absolutely beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful finish! You rock the stitchin' world!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful sampler!!
ReplyDeleteGood of you to notice - it's even more beautiful now :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, a big relief I am sure! It looks fantastic. Well worth it. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece and good catch! It looked lovely in the before shot, but the additon of the satin stitches really makes the border "pop"!
ReplyDeleteThose satin stitches really add to the piece! I'm so glad you caught that! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish, Cathy! Congratulations!

So glad you saw that too. I worry about that myself. It looks fantastic. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Cathy! I'm so glad you caught that too. The sawtooth border really sets the piece off. I do have a few things on my wall where I missed something small, but luckily I've been able to catch the big ones too. Once I almost framed a Drawn Thread piece where I hadn't given the birds any legs!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day!
Beautiful! Glad you caught those satin stitches before getting the sampler framed. As Margaret said, they add so much to the sampler.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll email me a photo for my sampler newsletter.
Beautiful finish Cathy!
ReplyDeleteFabulous finish ; )
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful finish, Cathy! Those satin stitches do add a lot to the overall look! I'm glad you caught it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good thing you noticed to do the satin stitches! They really "take it up a notch!!!" Speaking of satin stitches...I just learned how to do them this past weekend! Linda from Chessie & Me taught me! Isn't that cool?? She showed me the Smyrna too. Now that I know them I don't know what I was so scared of.
ReplyDeleteYour finish is gorgeous Cathy!!!!
I thought she was pretty before, but she's beautiful now!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful piece ~ even prettier with the satin stitches!
