The Needleworker's Sampler is finished. I put the final stitches in it on Friday night. Failed to take a picture before taking it to my LNS where it is being framed. You'll have to wait to see the final picture...
I'm working on a different piece now. It's called Wild Roses from Carriage House Samplings. I saw it done on this beautiful shade of golden linen at Lynn's of Madison last June and restarted it. (Yes, I had started it on the called- for linen). Now it's time to get this one finished!

Do you ever do that? Restart something because you are just not happy with your linen choice? My friends seem to think that I am making a habit of that lately (and they are right). I seem to have a bad case of indecision!
Back to stitching and football!

Cathy,
ReplyDeleteI just did that last night. I started Hibernation Day by Heartstrings Samplery thinking I wanted a darker color to make the white "snow" stand out. Turns out the other colors weren't to my liking on that linen, even though I had spent quite a bit of time going back and forth between two fabrics. I pulled out the stitches and am switching to my other option ( which I really liked better anyway) and am using a brighter "white" to make it show up on a lighter fabric. Are we nuts or what????
Hope you're keeping warm up there!
Oh I've definitely restarted because of unhappiness with linen or thread. Definitely worth doing too! I love your CHS piece -- the colors are perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty sampler. Yes, I have a large project that has been waiting for well over a year, because I cannot decide on which linen.
ReplyDeleteLove this design, Cathy! Your re-start looks awesome. I have restarted a project when the linen was too stiff and I knew I would not enjoy it...it is always better to enjoy every stitch and the final outcome!
ReplyDeleteCathy, I like your new start. The colours are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOnce in awhile I will stop and restart something. I try and do this early on or not at all if possible. Ultimately a piece has to feel right to you or else you will just hate it!
Very pretty!!!!! I like it :-). I am always a bit indecisive.
ReplyDeleteGreat linen choice! How do you like the blogpress app?
ReplyDeleteI really understand. I have had the worst time with the antique sampler and colors! I have just had to take a break!!
ReplyDeletepretty
ReplyDeleteLovely sampler, great progress
ReplyDeleteRestart? Only a few times and it really would depend on how far along I was. I have a design that os 80% completed, on 40ct, and it is medium size design. I SO want to restart it but I have so much completed so instead I shoved it to the bottom of my WIP basket.
ReplyDeleteYour latest project is very nice!
I have most definitely restarted a project or two. Lovely stitches you are working on!
