Progress Made

Modest progress, but progress nonetheless.

Love this little freebie from La D Da. It was kitted up by one of our local needlework shops. That shop isn't around anymore...

Can't believe that tomorrow is March 1!

Tired Eyes Again

So tonight's post is short and sweet. Red Deer Sampler from Birds of a Feather.

And this is how my Josie felt about Monday morning. Trust me, I felt the same way.

Hoppin' Around

It feels like Spring up in our neck of the woods and so I hopped on over and started this rabbit design from With Thy Needle and Thread. Good progress for just a couple hours of stitching!

Tomorrow is Monday.... :(

Ready for Finishing

Stitching on this little bunny is done. He's ready for finishing! The spool in the kit is unfinished, so I'll have to take care of that first. Need some paint or stain and sandpaper....not my favorite part of finishing!

I took photos today of some of my older framed pieces. Remember this one?

It's called Hillside School of Handworke and it is from Hillside Samplings.

I dug another bunny piece out of my stash today. I'll share it with you tomorrow!

Tired Eyes

I hoped to finish this tonight, but my eyes are tired...

Love these pincushions from a few years back...

We dodged a bullet, didn't even see a single snowflake!

Hoppin' Along

I've been looking at all the new designs that are coming soon to the Nashville Needlework Market and contemplating the purchases I would like to make. At the same time, I'm feeling a little guilty because I still have purchases from past markets that have yet to be stitched.

So tonight I pulled out one of last year's purchases. Do you recognize it? It's from Milady's Needle. Love that bunny!

Tonight's oldie but goodie is a teenie tiny band sampler that I stitched in 2015. The sampler folds up and fits into the little metal case. This was designed by Jackie du Plessis.

We're expecting a boatload of snow tomorrow!

Goode Huswife

I picked up With My Needle from Goode Huswife again tonight. Still working on the verse. I have two and a half rows of words to stitch yet.

Tonight's oldie but goodie is an LHN piece that was available from Elegant Stitch a number of years ago. This special limited kit was a fundraiser for breast cancer.

Have a good day tomorrow. We're getting ready for a big snowstorm!

Block #1 is Done!

I had originally planned to stitch one block a month; now I'm rethinking that. One block every two months might be a bit more realistic. Block #1 for Village of Hawk Run Hollow...

Tonight's oldie but goodie...a class piece from Blackbird Designs. Looking forward to seeing Barb and Alma again at Stitchville's Spring Fling in April!

See you tomorrow!

Stitch Me a River

Yes, I still need to stitch the river. And the tall grasses. Maybe tomorrow night.

Here's a set of Smalls from a retreat I attended in southern Indiana. I thought my finishing was superb if I may say so myself!

See you again tomorrow!

All Good Things...

...eventually come to an end. It was a great stitchy weekend and I'm happy with all that I accomplished.

This morning I finished up the stitching on this biscornu design from Catherine Theron.

I spent the rest of the day working on the first block of Village of Hawk Run Hollow. It's not quite down yet, but it is close!

And today's oldie but goodie - some tiny little animals from Just Nan. I'm not a big fan of Just Nan designs, but I did enjoy stitching these little guys.

And tomorrow is Monday... :(

Thanks for stopping by!

More Weekend Stitching

Thought you would enjoy seeing additional photos of the craft area at our retreat center. Lots of room, lots of light - great space.

Today I finished the stitching on Betsy Morgan's Helix Etui.

Now I really need to set aside some time for finishing. I have three of her projects all stitched up and ready to put together!

Check out tonight's beautiful sunset.

It's been a great weekend!

Weekend Stitching Retreat

It's going to be a great weekend. Stitching with friends at a retreat house just north of the Twin Cities. Here's what our stitching room looks like.

We each have our own table and the lighting is fantastic!

Today I stitched up Three Hens a Laying from Satsuma Street's Twelve Days of Christmas.

Last but not least, tonight's oldie but goodie! This sweet design from La D Da has fond memories of stitching at my aunt's lake cabin.

Happy Stitching!

Thursday Night Stitching

Slowly but surely, I'm making progress on my Helix Etui. I stitched the band of hearts tonight.

And tonight's blast from the past...

A couple of Chessie and Me designs. I'd like to think that my finishing has improved since I finished these two.

Looking forward to Friday!

Stitching with Friends

This is the best I can do tonight...an oldie but goodie. This project was all kitted up and available through Elegant Stitch several years ago. I personalized it with my initials and my mom's initials. It's finished as a pincushion.

Looking forward to a stitchy weekend with friends this weekend!

Ribbon Band

The ribbon band needs one more color added but I've run out of steam.

Tonight's oldie but goodie includes a collection of scissor fobs all designed by Shepherd's Bush!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Alphabets

Ask any of my friends, they will tell you that I love stitching alphabets!

Here's a blast from the past. Lizzie Kate seasonal scissor fobs!

Unseasonably warm in Minnesota today. I'm not complaining!

Colorful Stitching and Tatting

I always seem to underestimate the time needed to finish a piece. I thought that I might be able to finish the stitching on Helix Etui, but I'm going to need a few more days. Great progress made though on the larger piece which will be used to create the Etui.

I visited the Mad Tatter yesterday. In between hockey and basketball games and old and new episodes of Blue Bloods, she has been tatting like crazy. She is hooked on creating "Ice Drops". The tatting is done around a small round gemstone. These will make nice ornaments or sun catchers; I even think it would make a nice scissor fob!

Tonight I would like to share a more recent finish; I believe that I finished the stitching on this piece last year. I took it in to Stitchville recently and ordered up a frame. Deb does such a nice job framing and she is an expert at picking out the perfect frame!

Sorry for the glare; I didn't take the plastic off of it. I'm not sure where I am going to hang it yet and wanted to keep it wrapped up. The design is from Plum Street Samplers and it is called 1837 Crown Sampler.

The weekend went fast. Monday, Monday. Good thing that I have a short week ahead of me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Place

I visited my Happy Place today....

And here's another oldie but goodie...

This was a Hardanger club through the Nordic Needle a couple of years ago.

See you tomorrow!

Finally

I was finally able to put needle and thread to linen tonight! It calms my nerves and allows me to relax and forget the day's earlier stresses!

I spent more time stitching on the Helix Etui. All but one of the Smalls is stitched now. I'm starting to work on the larger piece in the set.

And tonight's flashback looks at two La D Da pieces from the past...

Here's to a great stitchy weekend!
