A Finish of My Own

Look at what I finished up the other night - Thread Gathering by LHN! I had purchased the special edition kit when it came out a few years ago. I've been longing to stitch it and so I pulled it out a few weeks ago and got it started. It's been a long time since I've stitched something for myself (it feels good!)

I've also managed to find time for some reading lately - has anyone else read the knitting mysteries from Maggie Sefton? I'm currently reading the fifth book in the series "Dyer Consequences." Just some nice light reading before bed!

A couple of you asked about the Hardanger piece behind the needleroll in my last post. It's a pillow (or cushion) that I stitched as part of a class back when I was first learning Hardanger. The pattern is not published and the woman that designed it has since died. At the moment I can't think of her name, but she was a long time member of EGA and a very well respected Hardanger teacher here in the Midwest.

Your Thread Gathering looks STUPENDOUS! HURRAY for you!!! It does feel good doesn't it?! That's why I'm "trying" to stitch mainly for myself, but do just a few things for others instead of ALL for others...seems if I get a little balance I'll be happier :)
We'll see....

But your hardanger is gorgeous too...you do such exceptional work, you need to stitch more for yourself, so your children will have heirlooms to pass on :)

Congrats on a lovely finish for yourself! And your hardanger pillow is STUNNING!!!

I've read all of the Maggie Sefton books. I'm a sucker for any kind of needlework mystery (and the Sefton books are set in a city just north of me where I used to live, lol!)

The Hardanger pillow is beautiful! You did a great job on it! Too bad the woman never had the pattern published.

I have only recently seen a blog that uses this LHN pattern on and I fell in love with it. I have to order it for me..hope it is still available.

Tha hardanger pillow is gorgeous! I have only been doing hardanger for a few months. Just recently finished a doily which I think came out beautiful. If you ever come up with the designers name and/or pattern, I am definitely interested in doing the pillow too!
