WIP - American Welcome

Gave this piece a little love recently. This design, from Plum Street Samplers, was a retreat piece in Amana last spring. Not available to the masses yet, but I imagine it will be sometime this year! I’m somewhere half to two-thirds finished. There’s a lot of stitches in that water section!

January has been a good stitching month for me!

New Start - One Nation and Bouquet Kit

My stitching friends and I will be seeing Kimberly Nugent from Samplers Not Forgotten in April and May. We all had The needlebook pattern for One Nation in our stash and so we decided to try and stitch and finish it by April. This is my start:

I also started a small pincushion pillow that Kimberly designed for Kindred Spirits 20th Anniversary. Meager start, but I’ll get back to it.

We’re enjoying the football games today! Great time for stitching.

Brought to You by the Letters O and P

January has been a good month to me; regular stitching time every evening.

My latest finish are the letters O and P from the Erica Michaels Sampler Book of Stitches. I’m stitching on various colors of 32ct Belfast with two threads of DMC over two. The Periwinkle Stitch was fun; the Oblong Rice Stitch, not so much!

Posting pictures of M and N and of Savio E. Again - they are wrinkle free this time!

I’ve got a couple more finishes to share - next time!

Stitching Up A Storm

My friends and I are at “The Ranch,” our favorite getaway spot in the middle of nowhere, in Wisconsin. Not much snow here, but it is cold. It’s also peaceful and quiet. Perfect place to hideaway and stitch.

On Friday, I finished the border on Savio E. Savio is now ready for finishing!

Also on Friday, I finished up the over one “Mosaic Stitch” and I finished the lower border and over one “Norwich Stitch.” It’s been a productive weekend so far!

My favorite breakfast - french toast!

Rovaris - Savio E. - Again

Working on that very boring border…

Have to go around again in red. Not going to finish tonight.

Rovaris - Savio E.

I started stitching this on December 29. My two Partners in Crime (PICs) and I bought the kits from Rovaris after seeing a Facebook post from her. The kit came with a beautiful spool, the buttons and the ribbon, the linen, and the pattern. When finished, the sampler will be attached to the spool with the ribbons.

Once I started stitching, I could not put this down. I’ve been working on it almost exclusively for the past week (after finishing Early Christmas Morning.) I’m not quite finished, I still need to stitch the border. Then I will wait for my two PICs to finish their stitching and we’ll fully finish them together.

Savio E - I believe this is an Italian sampler.

I did substitute my own linen - 36ct Vintage Light Examplar with DMC threads.

WIP - Erica Michael’s Sampler Book

The end of the weekend; it went by too fast.

Another WIP that I worked on in November - I stitched the M and N blocks. Hope to finish them this week and then move on to the letter “O.”

WIP - Randje Progress

Today was stitching day in Woodbury. We meet at the Jerry’s grocery store in their community room. Anyone can come. Dates and times are posted on the Minnesota Cross Stitchers Facebook page.

While I was there, I worked on Randje. I stitched the last two assignments; four lines of stitching. So happy that I’ve been able to keep up with this SAL!

Rescued Cross Stitch

I did not stitch this piece, I rescued it! It was abandoned in an empty cube at my office several years ago. No one knew where it came from or who had stitched it. It was destined for the garbage bin. I brought it home with me. It’s beautifully stitched. Someday I might take it out of the frame and stretch it properly, but for now, it’s just fine.

The puppers were all cuddled up together on the couch this morning after they returned from their walk!

Have a great weekend!

WIP - Village of HRH

Yes, I pulled this one out last month too. It’s been a WIP for far too long. I’ve got two blocks in progress and three more that haven’t been started yet. If you’ve stitched any of the HRH designs, you know those blocks are stitch intensive. I hope to finish these two started blocks sometimes this month!

Christmas Start - Christmas Garden

I’ve wanted to stitch this for such a long time. Just couldn’t decide on linen and thread choices. Admired all the various versions on Flosstube. Finally settled on linen and threads and on Christmas Eve stitching commenced. It’s a modest start, and I haven’t worked on it since, but I will get back to it real soon. Stitched enough to confirm that the colors were just right!

Christmas Garden from Blackbird Designs. Stitched on 40 ct Vintage Lentil from Lakeside. Gloriana Old Gold and Dutch Red, Belle Soie Weathered Vine and Mud Pie.

A Recent Start - Tona’s Randje

I started this lovely band sampler in October. Years ago, maybe 2015, I stitched the very first Randje and I really enjoyed stitching it. My finished Randje is about six feet long. I expect this one will be just as long.

Tona’s Randje is a complimentary pattern that can be found here: https://www.soedidee.nl/Tonas-Randjes?iPageNum=0&iElementId=16582440. Every week, the pattern for a new band is posted. The first 14 bands have been posted. I am caught up through band 13.

I’m stitching on some 32ct banding that I had in my stash, over two, with one strand of DMC 221. It’s a fun stitch!

First Finish 2024 - Early Christmas Morning

Starting out the New Year with a finish! If I could have finished it last night I would have, but I needed several more hours of stitching to finish it. So, it’s a 2024 finish!

I originally planned to stitch this over one on 28 ct., but had a serious talk with myself and decided that I would rather have it finished (LOL). So, I started it over a couple weeks ago. Stitched on 40ct. Vintage Meadow Rue on Lakeside with the called for threads. Now, to get it finished, finished.

Happy New Year!
