Dancing and Stitching

Oops, didn't mean to get you all excited. I don't have any finishes to show. What I meant by "Dancing and Stitching" is that I've been busy the last three nights watching the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars and stitching! Any other DWTS fans out there? Any predictions on who the mirror ball winner might be?

While watching DWTS, I needed a project that didn't require my full attention; something where I didn't have to follow the pattern so closely. So, I went stash diving and here's what I came up with.

The picture is a little on the dark side (the sun hasn't come out here yet!) Does anyone recognize the pattern? It's an oldie that I picked up on eBay. I'm stitching this beauty on Picture This Plus 36ct Shale. It kind of has a purplish/brownish hue to it and of course, it has the mottled look that I love. I'm really becoming rather attached to PTP linens! The fiber is a Belle Soie and it is called Plush Plum. Working with one color makes this an easy and relaxing stitch for me.

Oh, and you might be wondering about that scissors... it's the new Gingher Elena. Isn't she beautiful? Very colorful!

Have you figured out what design I am stitching yet? It's from Mary Garry and it is called "Peace." The letters "A" through "G" and the letter "K" have to be added yet, those are stitched over one. Then I just have three more quaker motifs to add. Don't worry, I'll post another picture when I am finished.

Anxiously awaiting for the news from market. Is there a design that you have seen that you are not going to be able to live without?

Love the stitching, and love the scissors! I might have to get my first Ginghers now.

I have pre-ordered so many charts from the market that it's not funny: the new HRH, two Primitive Designs, three Plum Street Samplers, and probably something else I can't remember right now. I couldn't live without *any* of them!

Great stitching! And scissors. :D I don't watch Dancing with the Stars, but i was happy to hear Martina Hingis went out first round. I've never been a fan of hers. lol! I have way too many things I've preordered from market, just like Gio. Pretty sad! Have to be good after market is over!

That design looks great. Love those scissors too. I don't know this design - so it will be a great surprise for me to follow your progress. And I won't look it up either to not spoil it.
The market...lol. No, I haven't ordered anything yet. But there are couple of things I will order. The new HRH, a design from With My Needle (family ties), there is also a design from Plumstreet Samplers that caught my heart (Paradise Lost), and a pair of scissors which I forgot the name of right now.
I think I stay away from the other releases...lol...or it will become very hurtful for my wallet.

You're a lucky girl. Finding ... and winning a Mary Garry design on the auctions is so great. Enjoy this little treasure.

I have limited myself to ONE chart well maybe TWO but that is it :) I still have no idea which ones I would like to buy.

I love that MG design. And the color you are using is so pretty. I am afraid to ask, but is this chart out of print?

I saw the scissors at the LNS. They are bright & colorful! I'm ot a fan of the dancing show; however DD doesn't miss a step.

I watched GLEE last night & laughed when the football team danced on the field during a game. It is a quirky, odd, funny musical show (IMO)

Love your piece - that's perfect to work on while trying to watch TV. I don't watch Dancing with the Stars but did hear that Geo. Hamilton's son got booted off. And I love the new Gingers too - I didn't know they came out yet, but I've got my sights on them!

I'm a big DWTS fan :) Sentimental favorite is Mark Dacascos and Lacey, but I think Donny Osmond, Natalie Coughlin and Mya are the top of the pack.

I'm looking forward to the new HRH design! It may get a start before the original Houses which I've had forever.... :)

Love that design and love the scissors!
I have recently discovered your blog and I am enjoying reading it and seeing your beautiful stitching.
There are three designs that are being released at Market that are on my wish list....Plum Street Samplers Paradise Lost, Carriage House Samplings Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow, and Primitive Needle Witches Hollow. I have heard that Lizzie Kate is putting out a Christmas ABC that I am anxious to see as well.

I like that Quaker design. It's something. There's something very calming about it!

As to the new releases...I've ordered SP's Sarah Woodham. I would love to stitch that big piece by Plum St and the name just popped out of my head! Have fun seeing the releases!

Lovely stitching! I love that color combo. PTP linens are wonderful, aren't they? I haven't tried that linen OR the Belle Soie Plush Plum, I'll have to remember that combo! ;)
