More Hardanger!

You saw my hardanger doilies a couple of posts ago; just this week I finished another doily and several crosses. These crosses are a great way to use up fabric scraps and leftover threads from larger projects.

The cross design is from Hanky Panky Designs. I stitched them on 25 count Congress Cloth using Perle Cotton #8 - Needle Necessities and Leah's Threads - all from my stash.

The doily pattern is in a booklet from Thuve-Stua called Hardangerdesign No. 1. (Wonderful book with fairly easy patterns!) I stitched this on 28ct White Cashel using some Perle Cotton #8 and #12 from Leah's Threads.

You might be wondering why I am stitching all of this hardanger...my mom and I leave next Saturday for Austria. We are going to spend two weeks visiting with relatives. My mom hasn't seen them since 2004 and the last time I visited with them was in 1997. This hardanger packs easily and is lightweight; it makes for a nice gift when visiting.

Before I go, I want to show you a couple of pictures that I took at about 8pm on Friday night from our deck. The back of our house faces west. We had a line of thunderstorms roll in - it had been a hot, sticky, humid day. Behind the line of storms was relatively cooler, drier air. Yesterday was a delightful day weather-wise and today and tomorrow promise to be the same.

Look at the line of dark clouds!

Fortunately, we didn't receive any damage as the result of the storm; unfortunately, other parts of Minnesota did.

Whatever your plans might be today; I hope it includes some time for stitching! Thanks for stopping by!

Boy, those clouds are scary! I hope that any future storms are less severe than what we've had so far this year. Stay safe!
