O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
Love this little German carol. Wish I were able to say that our Christmas tree is up and decorated and that the house is ready for the holidays...but I can't say that yet. Hopefully we will get this job done next weekend.
I've been making trees of a different kind these days - Hardanger trees! I joined the Nordic Needle Hardanger ornament of the month club this year and the ornament for October was a Christmas tree. While helping my mother this weekend at her boutique, I discovered that I can whip up one of these trees in an hour or two. I really like the beading detail (can you see those little red beads?) Well, I've made four of these trees already and I'll be making more!
The boutique was a huge success; my mom sold most of her tatting. She had a great time visiting with lots of different people - some come and buy her tatting year after year, some are just curious to find out what she's doing!
My daughter assisted at the boutique; the three of us had great fun - three generations spending the two days together. (However, only two generations in the photo - I'm not a fan of having my picture taken!)
My mom is having surgery on her right shoulder (rotator cuff) next Tuesday, so if you don't mind keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, I'd appreciate it!
That's all I've got for you. Hope your week is off to a good start. Happy Stitching!

Your Hardanger tree is just adorable!
Glad that your Mom did great this year with the tatting. It is so nice that everyone is involved.
I will be keeing your Mom in my thoughts.
I love the hardanger ornament.
Love your hardanger tree! And nice pic of the two generations at the fair! I will definitely keep your mom in my prayers -- hope her surgery goes well.
The Hardanger tree is cute. You do great work. Will keep your mom in my prayers.
Your mother's and your ornaments are beautiful, gorgeous things! No wonder you did so well :)
And I will keep your Mom in my prayers, my brother just had that surgery last Christmas season...was not easy and he was only 30.
Glad you had such a nice day with your mom and your DD :-). Gorgeous ornaments!!!
Lots of prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery!
Sending good thoughts your mom's way - I hope her recovery is speedy and full.
We hung up the ornaments you've made for us Sunday night. :)
It looks like a load of fun! Love your hardanger, and your mom's tatting is great. I have her in my prayers!
Delighted to hear the boutique went well and sales were brisk. Your Mom's tatting is top notch! The pincushions in jar lids look wonderful in the picture. Great idea! Will keep your Mom in our thoughts as she faces her medical challenge. (btw, no decs up here either - still plenty of time)
Sending positive thoughts to your Mom for a successful surgery. The hardanger decorated tree is beautiful.
Beautiful hardanger! Hope all goes well with your mom's surgery and that she has a speedy recovery.
Your Hardanger tree is so pretty! Your mother's tatting is gorgeous, I especially love those cupcakes. :)
Will be praying for your mom.
Your mom is such a sweetie...I still admire the tatted piece you sent me of hers! Such intricate work, I admire it so so much!
Do pass on to her that I will be sending prayers her way for a successful shoulder surgery. My DH had it about 3 yrs ago and he will swear his outcome was so successful was due to him doing every single thing his physical therapist had him do afterward. He's like new. She will be the same.
Take care my friends, Faye
Your tree is beautiful. What a treat for you that your Mom is still able to do such wonderful handiwork.
I just love seeing your projects...you do beautiful work! And loved seeing your mother's tatting...the apple never falls far from the tree! What talent runs in your family! I enjoy your blog...thanks for sharing your talent...hugs!
What a sweet little tree! I wish I lived closer to you because then I could go to your bazaar and buy some of your Mom's lovely tatting.
It was a wonderful way for the three of you to spend time together.
I'll keep your Mom in my thoughts and prayers.
What a fun way to spend a day together and share your love of crafting! Your trees are gorgeous, and I always love to see what your sweet mother's been working on. Please, even if you don't share them with us, get into some of those three generation photos. I'll definitely keep your mom in my prayers!
I am glad that the show was a success for your Mom, no surprise given her beautiful work. I will keep her in my thoughts/prayers for a successful surgery and rapid recovery.
Nice picture of your mom and daughter...get in the picture next time! :)
