Falling Leaves

Took a great class this past weekend offered by Shepherd’s Needle in Little Rock, AR. It was both an in-person and a zoom class. Was glad to have the option to take it via zoom. The project was called Falling Leaves and it was designed by Beth Seal of Summer House Stitche Workes. It was a wonderful class and project!

We received the kit in advance so that we had enough time to complete the stitching before class. I made sure my pre-stitching was complete!

Beth began class by walking us through the construction of the scissor fob. A little wool applique, some embroidery, blanket stitch, cording, and voila, the fob was finished! 

We then focused our efforts on the scissor case - completely finished by hand (but seams could be stitched on a machine). With right sides together we stitched the coordinating cotton to the linen and then turned everything right side out. Created the pocket shape by making two folds and securing them with a ladder stitch. Folded the top flap, secured with a snap and presto! The pocket was finished.
