Another Finish and Some More Hardanger

I have one more finish to share from Sunday's finishing frenzy. This pincushion wasn't quite finished when I posted the other photos. The design is from Godde Huswife and its called Three Crows; I stitched this quite some time ago. The finish is ala Blackbird designs - an oversized pincushion filled with crushed walnut shells. You can't really see it, but there is small black rick rack stitched along the seams to finish it off. It's really cute!

And, something pink for today's post - here are some hardanger crosses that I've stitched recently. These are great for using up bits and pieces of leftover linen and perle cotton thread.

After my post about Marie Bostwick's books, Marie L (no blog) emailed me about this book. I found a copy at my local bookstore and am reading it right now. So far, I like it very much! The book is called How to Knit a Love Song by Rachael Herron. Thanks for emailing me with this recommendation Marie!

Will write more soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Cathy,

The little pin pillow is perfectly done. Wow, your backing fabric looks as though it was designed to compliment this piece.

Clearly a popular question, but I too would love to know where the fabric on the back of your georgeous pincushion is from if you have the information!

Thanks

I love your pillow finish! The backing fabric is so sweet. Wherever did you find it?
I've looked everywhere here in Canada to try and find the crushed walnut shells with no luck. The pet stores here don't carry that type either. So for now I just stick to my polyfill.
