Not one, but TWO and an ALMOST

It was the annual end of season baseball and softball tournament weekend, so we did not go to the lake. The ball tournaments were short lived as both DS and DD's teams lost their first two games and were eliminated from any additional games.

With extra time on our hands, my DH decided to work on our dining room and kitchen floors. We're replacing the old carpeting/vinyl with wood laminate. Hopefully (fingers crossed) the new floor will be complete by the end of today.

On the stitching front, I have two finishes to share and an "almost finished". I was itching to stitch something from LHN this week, and so last weekend I started "Blossoms & Blackbirds". I'm still debating whether to frame or make into a pillow. I love the blue in this piece...

Second finish - ta da -- "My Sunshine" from La D Da. This was almost finished a few weeks ago, but due to some minor counting errors, the border wasn't exactly the right count of stitches. I had to manipulate it a little bit. If I hadn't told you this, I don't think you would have noticed.

Finally, I was hoping to finish Quaker Garden this weekend, but I'm not quite there yet. Still have the far left section to stitch. I'm putting it away for today, but will probably pick it up during the week and hope to finish by next weekend.

My DD team softball party is today, so we'll be busy with that. Need to do a little house cleaning and pick up my sewing room some. And there's the dreaded grocery shopping...UGH. The temps here in MN have cooled down and it promises to be a beautiful day. Have a nice Sunday! Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog.

Oh Cathy, you've been a busy stitcher this Summer. Blossoms & Blackbirds will look good in a frame or made into a pillow! It is a charming design. My Sunshine came out so nice, you did a good job working out the border! Quaker Garden is so close -- such a nice sampler.

Sorry the softball tournament was short. Would like to have heard they went all the way into the finals.

Good luck on your floor project. It is a lot of work & will be so nice when finished. DH is working on the exterior this week (his idea of vacation) and the boys are helping out with painting the doors, windows, moving ladders, etc. What a chore.

It's good to see that the summer heat hasn't stopped you from stitching! What great projects!
Your new floors sound really great. Next time we redo the kitchen/living room I think I'll put a wood floor down, either real or laminate depending on the budget! ;)

Lovely finishes. I really like the La-D-Da piece.

What's the fabric count did on the LHN blackbird piece? I'm thinking about pillows and am just curious.

Love your My Sunshine Cathy, and all your other works of course, I have changed colours on mine, I noted what you said about carefully counting, and I have nearly finished it now. How are you going to finish yours?

oh, I like Blossoms & Blackbirds! Very cute!

I like the Sunshine one also. :-)

I didn't get my Quaker Garden in the mail today, but, I did get the Bent Creek "Wedding Row" with the fabric. I need to stitch this and have it done by September 5th!!! I would like to give it to DH for our 25th.... Hopefully it will be a fast stitch, and I can get it done without him knowing about it.

I also signed up for the autumn exchange.... one of my favorite times of the year!

Wonderful finishes Cathy! Love both of them. Looks like you'll have another one soon too. I've been stitching (slowly) the Quaker Garden, but am just barely under the halfway mark so far. Congrats on your stitching finishes and hope you'll show us pictures if you decide on a pillows(s).
