Frogging Frustrated!

Have you ever had a project that was just doomed from the start? I pulled out La D Da's "Garden Maiden Kit" and took it with me to retreat thinking it would be a good project to work on when not in class. After all, it is stitched on 30ct linen - easy to see! I was plagued with errors right out of the gate. Stitched seven or eight letter only to realize I was off. Ripped and fixed, stitched some more. Encountered another problem. Ripped and stitched. Last night I was putting the border in and realized that the last two rows of letters are a thread off! I'm already at the point of needing to purchase more thread. Do I leave the letters in as is? Or do I rip again and re-stitch? Ugh. I'm sure I will choose the latter option.

Here's another snap of Mt. Rainier. I happened to be sitting on the right side of the plane when flying home yesterday. Such a beautiful, majestic mountain!

***Edited to Add*** And my mother replied "I would throw the whole piece away and not do it." Thanks mom... :)

Do whatever will make you satisfied with the finish. I can't see where your error is and have left many of mine alone, but some, fixed. Your work is always beautifully done and whatever you decided will be the same.

My mom would agree with your mom. I almost always advise leaving it if it's not noticeable and in this case you'd have to undo 7 letters. I'd leave it. There are too many great designs calling our names to pause so long on a mistake that won't be noticed. Of course, if it will really bother you and make you unhappy you'll have to do what you have to do but I hope you can ignore it and move on. One thread won't change it's beauty when finished. On the other hand if something is an obvious error, I'll always take it out. I just stitched a smallish quaker motif and on the very bottom stitch of the motif I stitched one leg of the cross over 3 threads instead of two. Of course it wasn't my last stitch and I wove so many threads through that area that the whole thing will have to come out. I've tried to talk myself into leaving it but just can't on something so obvious. Take care, I'm sure you'll make the right choice.

I vote with Mom! ;-) Whatever you decide will be fabulous!

Just put it away for awhile, then go back to it.
Mt Ranier is so pretty.

Some pieces just need to be thrown into time out until they decide to behave!

Sometimes it's best to just walk away from the stitching. I know how frustrating that can be. It usually happens to me when I'm trying to stitch too late in the day. It usually never ends well. Love the pic of the mountain. You had an awesome view!

lol Moms know best don't they? I would be frogging frustrated too after all that! But I would have done the same as you did, I can't leave mistakes once I find them and I am sure if I say that I can't notice that you are off 1 thread by looking at the picture that it wouldn't stop you from frogging it anyway. Ha! And beautiful picture you took of the mountain!!

Mt Rainier is beautiful - sorry you saw it on a day when the smoke from the fires made it so hazy. We only live 50 miles away, and there have been a couple days lately where we couldn't see it at all.

LOLOLOLOL!! I'd have to agree with your Mom, out of threads and so much ripping, it'd be in the trash bin for sure if it were me :) But I'm pretty certain you get it fixed right and it will come out looking like a million bucks!
That photo of Mt. Rainier...stunning!
