BBD Bittersweet September

Finally some stitching...despite several plane trips and many overnights in hotel rooms (just not the same as my stitching chair at home!) I managed to finish the stitching for this recent release from Dyeing to Stitch's Ladies Prim Society Club...

BBD Forget Me Not

Yes, I do still stitch every once in awhile! While watching Sunday night TV I was able to put the final stitches in this one...

Haven't decided yet what year I will add to the piece; I may leave the year off altogether. The blue flowers drew me to this piece. It's one of my favorites from their current Loose Feathers collection.

Sorry for the dark photo and the wrinkles- best I could do in my hotel room.

Have a great day!

Needlework Show

When I saw the advertisement for the Oktoberfest Needlework Show in the Needle Arts magazine, I knew that I wanted to go. I was certain that there would be some beautiful pieces of needlework on display. I had seen some of their finishes a year earlier when I took two Ellen Chester classes with their guild last year. The show did not disappoint!

The show was sponsored by the Coulee Country Chapter of the EGA. About 35 of their members had contributed to the show; another 15 stitchers from the area also entered their needlework finishes.

There were small and large cross stitch pieces on display. These were two of my favorite smalls.

This three dimensional quilt was awesome!

Of course, I was partial to the many finished needlework items. I need to do the finishing on my Ellen Chester box.

And I need to get my Huswifs stitched!

This box was finished by a friend...

I'm glad we made the drive down to see the show!

Road Trip to LaCrosse

A couple of my stitching friends and I made a road trip to LaCrosse today. Our mission - to attend the Oktoberfest Needlework Show. More on that in tomorrow's post. (Lots of pictures to organize!)

After we visited the needlework show, we had to stop at the needlework shop. LaCrosse is very lucky to have Crosse Stitchery; it's a great shop!

When I was here last year, I forgot to take a photo from outside. It's in a great old building. The window display is all decked out for Halloween!

I love looking at their framed models; many of them are from some of my favorite designers!

Lots of linen, lots of fibers, more stitched models. We had a great time perusing the baskets of patterns and kits.

I just like the ambience of this shop; it's quaint and cozy.

One more shot from outside...

After shopping we stopped for some lunch at Marge's. I know that the local group hangs out here quite a bit. Home cooking, just like the sign says...

Will share pictures from the Needlework show tomorrow!
