A Forest Grew

Finally, some time for stitching. Spent time this evening with Amy in Scotland. Finished the forest and stitched two bunnies.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Awwww....

I've been busy. Sat down tonight for the first time in days and just couldn't keep my eyes open. I hope tomorrow is a better day!

Short and Sweet

A little bit more progress made...two more crowns and the start of a forest on the right side.

Stitching Along

Made a little more progress on Amy Mitten's Scotland Sampler...I sure do enjoy stitching this one!

Planted a Tree

I had hoped to finish the tree tonight, but I've still got a little way to go.

If you are dealing with the snowstorm out east, stay warm and safe!

Two More Motifs

Doesn't look like much, but it's the most I have stitched in the last three nights. The work week has not been conducive to stitching.

A Scottish peacock and a heart....

If you live in the East, stay warm and safe.

No Stitching Tonight

Trying to fit in some stitching time the last two nights has been challenging. Long days at work have messed with my schedule. No stitchy pictures to share; but I do have to share this card which I received in the mail today. I think this card was designed specifically for me!

The front of the card says:

On the inside...

Made me smile! Hope it makes you smile too!

Armchair Travel

Passport in hand, I'm off to Scotland again. Amy Mitten won out. I'm not necessarily a "one piece at a time stitcher," I have quite a few projects in the works. Let's see how long my interest lasts.

I had an appointment to get my hair colored and cut tonight, so by the time I got home, there wasn't much time left for stitching. I still managed to stitch these two crowns.

Thank you for stopping by and cheering me on.

fi-ni-to

Just needed a little more nun stitching; the final assembly was a cinch. I didn't like the word "reach," so I left it off. Here's the front:

And here's the back:
Now, do I resume stitching on Amy Mitten's Scottish sampler, or do I stitch the needleroll for the Shepherd's Fold set?

La D Da

Today was a good day. Managed to get quite a few things done around the house and still had time left for stitching!

I finished up the La D Da piece I have been working on. The finishing class is in three weeks.

I also took time to press my Randje piece from last year and rolled it onto an antique spool.

Hard to decide what to work on next when there are so many things calling my name. I pulled out a piece that I had started last fall. It's about time I finish it! It's the ruler case from Shepherd's Fold.

I have to finish up the nun-stitching and then track down the rest of the kit with the buttons and the little felt flower and the ruler!

We had a good dinner tonight too. Comfort food on a cold day - stroganoff. Yum.

That's it for tonight. Thanks for stopping by. Stay warm!

No Croaking

Instead, my needles are smoking. I had hoped to finish this tonight. Need another hour or two to finish up the border and one more small motif.

No Stitching Tonight

Long day and tired; no stitching tonight. I do have something for you to drool over. I received this lovely gift from Mrs. Szigethy at Christmas.

Isn't it beautiful?

Stitching Forward

Forward stitching is always better than reverse stitching (frogging). I stitched the band under the alphabet tonight.

It feels good to make progress!

This Week

This is my stitching chair for the week. The lighting could be a little better, but it's not bad. The chair is comfy.

One of my co-workers went to Paris over Christmas. She visited the Sajou shop and brought me these...

Maybe I will have a stitching update tomorrow night.

Stitching Success

Today was a much better day. I finished stitching the green in the border for Amy Mitten's Scottish Sampler and the best part of all - it matched when the two ends met. Hurrah! Next I will stitch in the the pink and rose colored buds.

I also did my duty and frogged the problems with my La D Da piece. Will have to give this one lots of attention this week.

Did you see the needlework that Cora was working on during tonight's episode of Downton Abbey?

I'll be traveling again this week. The only good thing about being gone is that it might be a little warmer at my destination!

Not Meant to Be...

Today was Sip N Stitch Saturday at Stitchville. I was excited to have some time to stitch since my needles have been very cold lately. I thought that I might be able to finish up the La D Da pre- work for a class I am taking in February, but alas, it was not meant to be...

Everything above the urn is stitched one thread off and needs to come out. Aargh!

Pulling out a different project and will frog later. Would like to end the day on a good note!

Another Long Day

No stitching update again. Things are going to be different tomorrow though. I'm going to Stitchville in the morning. It's the second Saturday of the month and that means it's "Sip N Stitch" Saturday. We usually stitch until mid-afternoon. Once I am home I am going to stay put for the rest of the weekend. Our temperatures are starting to plummet and it's going to be cold.

May I share my latest fascination with you? I am infatuated with the wool appliqué projects done by Rebekah L. Smith. Such beautiful projects and such an appealing color palette. Search for her projects on Pinterest and try not to drool.

Stay warm!

Throwback Thursday

When you work all day and don't come home until very late, you don't have much energy left to put needle and thread to linen. <<Sigh>>

Here's what I was working on during the month of January in 2006 - ten years ago - wow!

I must have gifted it to someone. I don't have this doily anymore.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tatting

In the interest of keeping my blogging streak going, I'm going to share with you some of the tatted ornaments my mom put on my tree at Christmas.

They are like snowflakes. So delicate!

And now I must retire for the night - it was a very long day. I'm glad to be back home!
