Old Friends, New Friends

The best part about Stitch-Con was visiting with old friends and meeting new friends.

On Thursday, I introduced myself to Brenda from Handworkmaniac.  I wanted to tell her a story about a kindness that was done for me 10 years ago when I was in Salt Lake City for work.  Some stitchers in Salt Lake offered to take me to Shepherd’s Bush.  You can read the entire story here:

Imagine my surprise when Brenda said, “I was there!”  Here’s our picture 10 years ago at Shepherd’s Bush.

And here we are at Stitch-Con.

I also met a new friend at Stitch-Con, her name is Jaffe and she is a friend of one of my stitchy buds in Indy.  It almost seemed like I was stalking her because I had a picture of her on my phone (which I used to find her).  It made for quite a story!

Last but not least, we also hooked up with long time friend Polly.  She had the good fortune of coming to Stitch-Con last year and promised us we would have fun (she was so right!). Our selfie seemed more like one of those photo booth shoots - LOL.

The weekend was a blast and we have many fond memories.  Until next year!

Exchanges

While at Stitch-Con, anyone who wanted to, could participate in a smalls exchange.  I didn’t have my act together and did not participate.  My partner in crime and two other table mates did though.  The pieces that stitchers stitched and finished were amazing!  This next group of pictures is just a sampling of some of the finished projects that were exchanged.

Shopping and Trunk Shows

And there was more shopping and trunk shows at the Convention Center.  This is just a small sampling of my favorite things! Shakespeare’s Peddler, Hands on Design, Lindy Stitches and Jeanette Douglas!

Keepsakes

Keepsakes is a fabulous shop in Sharonsville, OH.  It’s in an old house.  Lots of models, charts, linen, threads - stitchy goodness in all the rooms!

Flosstube Fanatic

Have had a fabulous time meeting some of my favorite flosstubers!

Victoria from Victoria’s Creative Crafts

The Sunshine Stitchers

Pam from Just Keep Stitchin’

Little One from Homesteading on the Homefront and Valerie at Stitching in the Barn.

And many, many more.  It was a fun day!

Stitchy Bus

When you want to go shopping at Keepsakes, you ride on the Stitchy Bus!

Stitch-Con

Partner in Crime (aka the fastest needle in the Midwest) are at Stitch-Con.

What is Stitch-Con? It’s a convention of needleworkers, 400 needleworkers to be exact. And we’re all in one room. And it is fun.

A little strange to be in a room with so many people and to know at least 100 of them (from Flosstube) but they have no idea who you are. This Flosstuber, Stephanie, from Just Keep Stitchin’ welcomed us to the retreat and is as friendly as can be!

Lots of show and tell.

Overwhelmed and excited for tomorrow!
