Moving On

I bet you thought I forgot about this blog...I didn't. I just hate to post when I don't have a picture to share. And sometimes, I just don't have time to post. If it's a choice between posting and stitching, I will usually choose stitching.

The Needleworker's Sampler is finished. I put the final stitches in it on Friday night. Failed to take a picture before taking it to my LNS where it is being framed. You'll have to wait to see the final picture...

I'm working on a different piece now. It's called Wild Roses from Carriage House Samplings. I saw it done on this beautiful shade of golden linen at Lynn's of Madison last June and restarted it. (Yes, I had started it on the called- for linen). Now it's time to get this one finished!

Do you ever do that? Restart something because you are just not happy with your linen choice? My friends seem to think that I am making a habit of that lately (and they are right). I seem to have a bad case of indecision!

Back to stitching and football!

New Year Start

Even though I have many WIPs to work on, I always like to start the new year with a new needlework project. This year's start is Needleworker's Sampler from With Thy Needle and Thread. I'm stitching it on 40ct Sandcastle and it is gorgeous! (Sorry for the wrinkles...)

I've also jumped on the Snooty Parrot bandwagon, but don't have my pattern yet. I have plenty to work on until it arrives!

If you live in my neck of the woods, or most anywhere in the U.S. It would seem, stay warm!

Happy New Year!

We enjoyed an evening at home last night and shuffled off to bed slightly before the ball dropped. Today, we are enjoying a relaxing day at home. This is one of my favorite holidays.

I've been stitching most of the day and will share my new start with you in another post. While stitching today, I've been thinking about my plan for the year ahead - I may not stick to the plan, but it is fun to think about it!

I have oodles of things I want to stitch; I need to focus on finishing some of the projects I've started. Here are the first seven projects (WIPS) that I hope to complete in 2104!

#1 - Carriage House Samplings, Alphabet Blocks
I started this about three or four years ago on New Year's Day. If I could just stick to one or two blocks a month I could make some real progress on it!

#2 Heartstring Samplery, Never Let You Go
Fell in love with this design the first time I saw it. I've made good progress on it. Just need to keep going!

#3 Carriage House Samplings, Wild Roses
This is a gift for a friend and I am dragging my feet!

#4 Satin Stitches, Hardanger Doily
Just need to do the cutting, the wrapping and the filling stitches!

#5 Nordic Needle
Need to complete the last two installments in the Hardanger club from 2013!

#6. More Hardanger! This is a guild project we are working on right now. The design is from Carol Pedersen.

#7 Ukrainian Whitework ornament designed by Terri Bay
I am really enjoying this project; Terri's instructions are so easy to follow. I just ran out of time and did not finish. (Picture is fuzzy- sorry!)

Those are the first seven - don't worry, there is more!
