Randje Week 41

Some Randje stitching tonight. I finished up week 41 (slightly modified) and have stitched the first row from week 42. Ten more weeks to go and I think I am going to run out of banding! It's okay, I knew that might happen when I started.

Last post for October, tomorrow starts a new month!

Too Tired, No Stitching

No stitching update tonight. I was traveling on Wednesday and Thursday. While I might stitch a little bit tonight, I don't think it will amount to much. Hope to have a sampler update for you tomorrow night.

I must post an update on Halloween photos for my mom; she too is enjoying this trip down memory lane!

1997 - Batman and Barbie

1998 - Race car driver and a cheerleader

1999 - can't find photos!

2000 - the Race car driver is back with Madeline!

They grow up so quickly!

Tonight's Sampler Update

A little more progress in the top left corner.

I'm traveling tomorrow and Thursday so this project will have to rest for a few days. If I have time, I will put a few more stitches in Randje tomorrow night.

In keeping with my Halloween themed trip down memory lane, here are the 1996 trick or treaters...a pirate and Pocahantas!

Happy hump day tomorrow!

Ran Out of Steam

I hoped to finish the little tree, but ran out of time (and energy). The bowl of fruit is done. Will need to work on the flowers underneath tomorrow night.

Tonight's Halloween photos are from 20 years ago, 1995 to be exact. We had a cowboy and a princess that year. Oh what fun they had! We still have the wand with the paper mâché star; I think I found it at a craft show! So cute...

Staying Focused

I've moved up to the top left now. Love the colors.

And now, because my mom will be checking for an update...here are some Halloween pictures from 1993. Barney and a little red devil!

And in 1994 - Barney Again with Baby Bop!

Hope you have a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday Night Stitching

I hope to stitch awhile longer, but am stopping for a moment to provide you with an update. The left bottom half is finished!

I think I am going to work on the top left now for a change of pace.

I thought it would be fun to look back at some of our Halloween's of the past. Today I dug through old photos; they really brought back some memories.

When my kids were small we did not trick or treat in the neighborhood. I dressed them up and took them to visit my mom, one of her old neighbors, and several of my aunts and uncles. I think the old folks had as much fun as the kids did. Here are a couple photos from my son's first few Halloweens!

1990 - Pat was ten months old...

1991 - we had a horrible blizzard - no trick or treating this year!

1992 - Pat loved the Gedney pickle at the State Fair this year, so I made him a pickle costume!

When it came time to go trick or treating, he didn't want to wear the pickle costume. So, instead, he wore the Dalmatian costume that I made the year before (the year of the blizzard). With Auntie Florence and Auntie Betty...

More pictures tomorrow night!

Still chipping away at Crown Sampler from Plum Street Samplers.

Kind of chilly and quite wet here in the north. Hoping for a good weekend.

Partial Motif

This is all I have to show for three hours of stitching.

I must be a really slow stitcher. Of course, I was watching Dancing With the Stars too!

Please Excuse the Wrinkles

I haven't had a lot of time to stitch lately. Life gets in the way sometimes from doing what we want or like to do. Sometimes I also think that I have a hard time settling on a project because I have too many to choose from. Do you know that feeling?

I've discovered that I like being behind on Randje. It's a good project to travel with. Easy to work on when waiting at the doctor office or when at guild meetings where the lighting isn't always the best. So, I'm not going to work on Randje tonight; it's okay that I'm a little behind.

Instead, I've decided that I'm going to spend some quality time with this beauty. I've been working on it on and off for about a year now. I think it deserves to be finished. Please excuse the wrinkles!

You might recognize it. It's called 1837 Crown Sampler from Plum Street Samplers.

Hope I have a progress report to share tomorrow.

Randje Weeks 37, 38, 39 & 40

I'm working on week 41 right now; here are the previous week's rows.

I think I am going to run out of banding. Am sad that this project is coming to an end.

Where in the World....?

One month I'm posting on a regular basis and the next month I disappear! Not to worry, I'm still here. Just haven't had much time for stitching or posting.

The Mad Tatter had rotator cuff surgery last week on her left shoulder. She's doing pretty well but I spent a good amount of time with her on the day of her surgery and the day after.

During her surgery I was able to get caught up on Randje. Will share that photo with you tomorrow night. Then I started to work on the most recent (and final) part for the Shepherds Fold. Will share a photo once a little more progress is made.

Over the weekend, Jackie du Plessis was here in MN and I had the good fortune to be able to take her class - Hands to Work, Hearts to God. Our class was in an old house that has been converted into an Arts Center. Lots of small rooms filled with oil paintings, watercolour pictures, etc. Even some sculptures.

A couple of the rooms were set up as classrooms. We were a fairly small group and it worked! Lots of one-on-one attention from Jackie.

I'm looking forward to getting started on this set of smalls!

La D Da Done!

The linen color is a little washed out in this photo. My finishing pile is growing!

La D Da Lovefest

I think it will take a couple more nights of stitching to finish this one.
