Apricot Elegance Update
I was a tad bit behind on this SAL, needing to complete weeks 4, 5, and 6. While watching (actually listening to) the Olympics last night and tonight, I was able to get caught up. The color is distorted - it's hard to get a good picture when it is 9:30pm - but at least you can get some idea as to the progress I've made. There won't be another lesson on this until next weekend, so now I've got time to work on other projects.
This weekend my daughter is playing in the basketball tournament sponsored by our team's association. I worked two hours in concessions today and need to volunteer an additional four hours in admissions tomorrow. It takes a huge chunk out of the weekend, but volunteers help to keep the costs down. Our association relies on profits from this tournament to keep our program fees affordable. We only have to do this one weekend each year, so it's not so bad.
I'm looking forward to enjoying the Olympics this weekend and throughout the week. We are huge sports fans and especially like to watch the hockey games and the figure skating. Do you have a particular Olympic sport that you enjoy watching during the Winter Olympics?
Have a great Sunday everyone and take care!

Cathy, this is stunning! Well done!!
Cathy, even with the iffy color (I hate taking pictures at night!), your Apricot Elegance is STUNNING!
I remember volunteering with my mom when my brother played Little League baseball. It did take a lot of time, but it was fun, too. I hope some of our kids will be involved in sports.
I love watching the downhill skiing events - this was the only sport I was ever any good at myself.
Hi Cathy!
Your project looks great!
As for the Olympics... we try not to miss a Hockey game, but, watch everything! I get a lot of stitching done during some of the events.
AE is just gorgeous, even in the low light!!
In this non-athletic household, we do sometimes have sports on the tube, i.e. when the Seahawks are in the Superbowl and when the Olympics are on. If nothing else, it reminds me of my Mom who loved all sports. :)
Your rendition of Apricot Elegance looks fantastic! Great work. :)
As far as Olympic events go, I pretty much like them all. It's the excitement of competition that I enjoy, regardless of the sport. Of course, my absolute favorite is ice skating and ice dancing, but the new scoring system is making it very difficult to follow. :(
Apricot Elegance looks great! Enjoy your time at the tournament --
Congrats! Apricot Elegance looks stunning.
I love watchin biathlon and ski touring.
Beautiful work Cathy!
This is gorgeous Cathy
Very Beautiful! :)
Hi Cathy, just wanted to drop by and say that I'm looking forward to starting our DT "spots" SAL. Will report in my progress tomorrow with you, lol. Happy stitching, Katrina
Your Essy's Friends finishes are all gorgeous - if it wasn't for all the pink in these, I'd love to do them myself LOL ... I actually almost signed up for them until I saw the pink (which is obviously symbolic for the breast cancer charity, but I just couldn't make myself stitch them haha). And your Apricot Elegance is just gorgeous! I'm sooooo far behind with these - still waiting for my threads to arrive from NZ ... good job we're not attending this SAL in a classroom, or I'd now be standing in the corner with my dunce's hat on! LOL. I can enjoy watching yours in the meantime :))
