Sampler Framed - Part II

Here's the other picture I promised you. (My daughter did such a good job of hiding the last name that it almost looks like I forgot to stitch it!) This is the birth sampler that I posted about on February 14. Now it's framed too and will be passed on to the beautiful baby that it was stitched for.

Before wrapping it up, I signed the back of the piece with my name and the date and some of the details about the design. I'm thinking I may start doing this with all of my stitched pieces. Just curious- does anyone else do this?

Have a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

The sampler is beautiful. And I think it's an excellent idea to add things to the back of it. You never know how long this piece will be around and it will give people an idea of who stitched it.

I think it is gorgeous Cathy :) Utterly gorgeous!
I put: who the thing is for, my name, date/year, what I stitched it for (if of any interest- like anniversary, wedding, birth, etc) what the name/designer of the design is and then I put something like: Lovingly Stitched by XXXX
with my signature. I think it is a good idea personally.

I like to date, sign and put some pertinent info on the back - I got some lovely sampler themed stickers from an on-line company a short time ago and really like them - they are actually just for this purpose.....can't seem to remember their name though

Beautiful sampler! I like the idea of signing the back of a piece but I've only done this once before myself. I think I may have to look for the stickers that Carol G mentioned above. Sounds like a wonderful idea!

I sent a question to the forum I participate in sometimes and the name of the website is www.InTheCompanyOfFriends.com - they have many lovely stitchy items.

Beautiful! I like your idea of putting all the details on the back of the sampler. I keep meaning to do that but I never do!

That is so pretty! I think it's a great idea to write on the back for future reference :)

Beautiful. I love the frame. It is perfect.

As for signing, I almost always include my initials and the year on my pieces. Somewhere on the piece itself but off to the side or bottom.

What a great frame, Cathy! It looks great. I think it's a great idea to put the information on the back of the sampler. I have always intended to do that, but haven't.

Beautiful birth sampler!
I don't actually write on the back of my finishes but instead take a pictue of each. These are then placed in an album where I mark all the specifics....fabric,designer,floss,date of completion and who it's for.
