Two Posts in One Day?

I can't believe that June is almost over. I wish I had more progress to show on my stitching projects. I've been distracted with other things which are keeping me from my stitching chair!

Two weeks ago I was back in NewYork for four days of meetings. The good news is that in the evenings we were able to do some fun things. The first evening we went to see Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre.

It was a rainy evening - look at all of the people waiting to see the show!

This was my first show on broadway - ever! The second night we went to Yankee Stadium.

It was raining that night too, but the clouds cleared and the sun came out. The Yankees wee playing baseball somewhere else; we saw a soccer game - Spain vs. Ireland.

We participated in a cool project the final day. I had the opportunity to volunteer for the American Red Cross. My group packaged cleaning supplies. These buckets of supplies are provided to people whose homes have been damaged by floods. We could include care notes in our buckets.

I snuck out one afternoon to check out the street scene. Our hotel was just two or three blocks off of Times Square...

The streets are always busy in New York!

And just around the corner from our hotel...the Ed Sullivan Theater.

When I returned home, I finished out the week celebrating my mom's birthday. We went to lunch in the afternoon;and that evening we went to see The Tenors at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. It was a great show!

Looking back, it was a good week filled with some new experiences. Back to reality. It was a busy week at work. After finishing the front cover of the button book I had to find something a little easier to work on (over two instead of over one!) I pulled out this project from Heartstring Samplery that I had started last year. I think I will work on this for awhile...

That's all for today. Hope you had a nice weekend and that you were able to find some time to thread your needle!

Thanks for stopping by.

Next time you are near the Ed Sullivan theatre, go around the corner to see Rupert's Hello Deli at 213 West 53rd Street. He is so nice and will gladly pose for a picture with you. :)

I would not want to live in NYC but I am so thankful to have a son that does..I can enjoy all the sights with no hotel bill!
