Sunday Morning

Typical spring day in these parts. It's cooler today and overcast; we had some rain overnight. I think it is supposed to rain on and off all day. The trees and bushes now have buds on them and the air smells fresh and clean. Finally, I think we can say farewell to winter.

I didn't get much stitching done this week, only a little bit here and there. I've got a number of projects that I "should" be working on and then there are those that I "want" to work on.

The project I would really like to finish is this one - Winter Strawberries Needleroll from Catherine Theron. This was her guild project this year. I know some guilds are still waiting for their kits due to a backup on the linen. We must have been one of the first guilds to place our order.

I've been somewhat counting challenged with this piece, but I have really enjoyed stitching it. I still have a little bit more to do on the front of the needleroll- some over one filling in around the word "needles". I also need to stitch the top and the sides for the mattress pincushion. Not too much more to go, but when it is over one it takes me twice as long!

If you are on Facebook have you seen the announcement that Cathy from The Inspired Needle is going to keep "Celebrations" going in St. Charles? Under a new name of course - Needlework Galleria. It seems like many of the opportunities are on the East coast; I think we need to support this event to ensure its success. We have a wedding to attend that weekend for a friend of my daughters. I'm trying to figure out how I can be in two places at once.

Enjoy your day.
