One motif done, three more to go!
Top right corner I done now. Just have to finish bottom right and we can then call it done!
Went to a beautiful wedding today. My daughter was one of the bridesmaids. Here's a nice photo of the three of us.
When I was younger, I would often stay up until the wee hours of the morning. Now that I am older, not so much. I was out late tonight though. Went to Stitchville for Friday night stitch-in. Had a delicious piece of bundt cake with ice cream (don't worry, it's not that close to the needlework!)
Finished the border on the Crown Sampler.
Tired. Must sleep!
I've had a busy couple of weeks with very little time for stitching. Last night I pulled out the Crown Sampler again. It's so close to being finished; I think I will stick with it for the rest of the year.
It's been a sad week for stitching. Tonight was the first night I picked up a needle since last Sunday.
One more row complete; another one almost finished.
The cover is almost finished - just need to do a little more four-sided stitch, some satin stitches, and the over one section.
Back to reality tomorrow!
Why is it that when stitching is involved I have no trouble getting out of bed? Was in my chair stitching by 7:30am.
We had a delicious breakfast this morning - French toast, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon and sausage.
Today I stitched on a different project. As a member of the Swan Sampler Guild I was able to acquire Betsy Morgan's new project - Pioneer Girl's Sampler Book. I'm off to a good start:
My friend Chris has already finished stitching hers. She did the finishing this weekend.
Great stitching day.
We had a delicious dinner tonight followed by a fabulous dessert. Molten chocolate dessert with ice cream.
The weekend went by too fast.
Spending a stitching weekend at the Ranch in Range, WI. We arrived yesterday afternoon and will stay through Sunday afternoon.
There are eleven of us here. We've each got our own stitching nest.
Stitching, sewing, crocheting...a number of the stitchers are finishing; I'll try to share some of those pictures with you tomorrow.
We eat well when we are here. Tonight we had pork roast with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Homemade rolls and a delicious salad rounded out the menu.
There's a beautiful sampler that hangs above the fireplace in the dining room. My friend Chris stitched it a few years back. The sampler was featured in The Gift of Stitching magazine. It was a monthly installment for a full year. Each month featured stitches from a different part of the world.
Here's another treasure. The homeowner's mother-in-law designed it and won a ribbon at the fair in 1912. (Not sure if it was the county fair or state fair, but the piece was made in 1912!)
A similar piece that she found in a nearby shop more recently...
We're going to have dessert soon...apple pie ala mode.
Back to stitching!
I'm starting to think that maybe I'm a slow stitcher. I made a little more progress tonight; it just doesn't look like much. I was doing laundry too. And watching the CMA awards. And made a few phone calls....
This sampler is really beautiful!
I got my hair cut and colored tonight; it looks great! As a result, my stitching time was cut short. Not much progress made on the sampler tonight.
It was a rough Monday at work. Glad for the opportunity to sit and stitch peacefully for a little bit tonight.
Tonight I pulled the Crown Sampler out. Made a little more progress; a bird, a small tree, and a flower.
I really love this sampler. The colors are so beautiful.
Have a great week!
