The Roman Stitch

I learned a new stitch tonight. I had to pull out my handy, dandy reference book - The Proper Stitch - to make sure I was doing it correctly. The a Roman Stitch was used to create the grassy hill under the lovely lady with the really cool hat!

I added the flowers on the bottom on the left too. Just need to add a tree trunk and some personalization on the right. Then I need to stitch the page that goes inside the needlebook. Making good progress!

Your lady is lovely on her grassy hill. Kinda makes me want to go out and buy a really cool hat for myself!
