I should be making the most of today, but instead I’m kind of being lazy. I guess the dog hair and dust can wait another week!
I found this cute Halloween cat at a local grocery store. After passing it up my first three visits I finally bought it.
Now I think I am going to have to stitch this cat from Brenda Gervais. See the resemblance?
The Mad Tatter and I went to Wisconsin yesterday for the annual family booya. It was cold outside but the booya was warm and delicious!

Day Three with Cathy H.
And on the third day...we made this delightful fabric covered box which is just the perfect size to hold the pincushion that we made the previous day.
It was a fabulous weekend!

Day Two with Cathy H.
We had so much fun the first day, we went back for more!
The classes on the second and thirde days were organized by the Madison Area EGA guild. They brought Cathy Habermann to Madison in celebration of their guild’s 40th “Ruby” anniversary. Cathy designed a ruby red project for them!
We worked on pincushion assembly. I really enjoy this type of hand finishing!
My Partner in Crime had to stitch it over one. She’s so amazing!
Finished pincushions.
And as a special addedsurprise we got to make some matching pins (not pictured) and a coordinating pinkeep!
One more project on day three!

Day One with Cathy H.
Day one of our adventure included a class with Cathy Habermann from Hands on Design. Today’s class was organized by Lynn’s of Madison.
Cathy brought many of her models with her. The models are now on display at Lynn’s if you happen to live in the area.
Our projects for today were to finish a needlebook and some scissors charms. Ignore the pincushion in the photo, that’s tomorrow’s project!
Both were easy to finish! The needlebook is lined with a wool felt and includes two places for pins and needles.
The name of the project was “inspi(red)” and my very smart Partner in Crime stitched the name into her needlebook in place of her initials!
It was a great day!

Off on an Adventure Again
Short weekend trips are what keep my family from committing me to the funny farm. My Partner in Crime took a drive to a neighboring state for this weekend’s adventure. The fun begins at 10:00am.

Chris Told Me So
Chris is hoping to visit Doris this week. She said I better update my blog, otherwise Doris is going to ask about it. Here we go...
I’ve been stitching several pieces from Hands on Design lately. Will be seeing Cathy in two weeks and thought it would be fun to take some finishes with me.
This first project is called My Stitcher’s Heart. It was a limited edition kit that was available a few years ago from Elegant Stitch. I still have one small (the waxer pocket) that needs to be finished, but the box, the pincushion and the scissor fob are done!
Then, I must share my cloche with you! Bought it at Hobby Lobby a couple months ago. I can display smaller needlework pieces without them getting dusty.
My cloche currently houses two smalls from the project noted above plus another pincushion designed bt Hands on Design.
I’ll leave you with a picture of the Mad Tatter. She was busy spreading her love of tatting again this year with fairgoers at the Minnesota State Fair!
