Back in 2011, I attended the Dyeing to Stitch retreat in Virginia Beach. One of my classes was with Theresa Venette (Kitten Stitcher) from Shakespeare’s Peddler. This piece is called “The Mermaid” and I think it might have been the first time I stitched on colored linen! Plus, she had us stitch on some smaller pieces of linen and then we attached them like patches. I remember really enjoying stitching this!
The frame seemed perfect; kind of old and wormy looking!
I know this pattern later became available, but it might be OOP now...

Oh what a gorgeous piece Cathy! Should be framed and it is perfect...♥️
I love the “patchwork” look of the smaller linen pieces.
I love the molding you selected for your mermaid stitch. Well done! Enjoy your Saturday!
That is a beautiful design and I love the way that you have stitched patches onto it. Gorgeous framing job. xx
The frame look great with the piece!! Adding the pieces is a clever idea! I love watching her flosstube.
I love the idea of sewing on patches! It looks absolutely wonderful in that frame
