The Mermaid

I took advantage of a framing sale recently and got some older stitching finishes framed.  Tonight’s post is one of those pieces!

Back in 2011, I attended the Dyeing to Stitch retreat in Virginia Beach.  One of my classes was with Theresa Venette (Kitten Stitcher) from Shakespeare’s Peddler.  This piece is called “The Mermaid” and I think it might have been the first time I stitched on colored linen!  Plus, she had us stitch on some smaller pieces of linen and then we attached them like patches.  I remember really enjoying stitching this!


The frame seemed perfect; kind of old and wormy looking!  

I know this pattern later became available, but it might be OOP now...
