On Friday night after work I went to my mom's to pick her up. We were headed down to Stillwater to see the Valley Chamber Chorale perform their Christmas concert. It was an excellent concert -the music performed were pieces from the Scandinavian and Baltic countries. It was a delightful evening with my mom.
When I arrived at her house, here is how I found her:
She was sitting in her chair, tatting away on a doily:
Of course, we couldn't leave until she was at a place where she could stop.
She might not have an award or certificate, but she is a master of tatting! Or as my brother would say, she is the "Mad Tatter".
Here in Minnesota we have been blasted with a good old fashioned winter storm. My husband is out shoveling now for the third time today...the snow seems to have tapered off.

A little snow would be welcome here. I'm tired of gloomy rain! Of course, my Minnesota daughters and granddaughters are enjoying the white stuff. My fingers are crossed that we'll see some soon!
It looks like your mom is thoroughly enjoying herself!
Love the snow scene. Tatting sounds cozy.
Doesn't time fly when you are enjoying chatting and needlework? Glad you had a wonderful time.
Sorry about the snow ---- and, in my opinion?
Your Mom is an excellent tatter.
Pretty snow!
That tatting is beautiful.
I spent yesterday afternoon at one of my husband's choral performances. Not long afterward we were hit with the same storm system. However we only received a couple of inches of snow. The rest has all been freezing rain. I'd rather have the snow!
It would be fun to watch your mother at work someday with her tatting. So cool. As for the snow -- ugh. lol!
Am so grateful for the talent of your mother! Holiday Hugs to you both!
What a fun day you had! I'm a little envious of the snow you got. Yes, I'm one of those nuts that loves snow!
Now that's what I call a good reason to curl up inside and stitch the night away!
I would love to tat, I have bought some books to learn but haven't got around to it yet.
The snow looks so pretty, you forget how much extra work a fall brings.
How much fun to see a photo ofyour mother tatting. It is a special treat since I have a piece of her beautiful tatting.
I may be kicking myself later in the winter for saying--please send some snow my way--just not too much.
