Ranch Weekend

Spending a stitching weekend at the Ranch in Range, WI. We arrived yesterday afternoon and will stay through Sunday afternoon.

There are eleven of us here. We've each got our own stitching nest.

Stitching, sewing, crocheting...a number of the stitchers are finishing; I'll try to share some of those pictures with you tomorrow.

We eat well when we are here. Tonight we had pork roast with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Homemade rolls and a delicious salad rounded out the menu.

There's a beautiful sampler that hangs above the fireplace in the dining room. My friend Chris stitched it a few years back. The sampler was featured in The Gift of Stitching magazine. It was a monthly installment for a full year. Each month featured stitches from a different part of the world.

Here's another treasure. The homeowner's mother-in-law designed it and won a ribbon at the fair in 1912. (Not sure if it was the county fair or state fair, but the piece was made in 1912!)

A similar piece that she found in a nearby shop more recently...

We're going to have dessert soon...apple pie ala mode.

Back to stitching!

Wow!!! It would be so wonderful to attend something like this! My favorite is that black, red, and green piece from 1912!!! It is gorgeous! Is it a table topper? Are they made with wools?
