One of my friends asked when the big marching band was coming in the WIP Parade. Technically this isn't a WIP yet, because I haven't started it, but it's going to be a big one. I guess you could say that I am jumping on the Instagram "marching band-wagon". My pattern arrived yesterday...
For those who might not recognize it, it's a classic sampler. It's on the top 100 sampler list. It's called Dutch Beauty. I picked up my DMC fibers today. Now I just need to figure out the stitch count. I think I have to learn Dutch first.
I've made a little more progress on my Chessie and Me piece. Instead of counting sheep, I've been stitching sheep.
Happy 150th Birthday to all of my Canadian friends!

Wow that is one big stitch...we will definitely have a parade for you when you finish it! I love your sweet stitch with the sheep. My wish list keeps getting longer. You have a beautiful blog filled with the most lovely stitches. I'm a new follower and am enjoying it very much. RJ@ stitching friends forever
That's a BIG one. Can't wait to see your progress. Have had this one in my stash for years, but have never had the nerve to start it.
Ohhh, Dutch Beauty, another project that I want to stitch too. But first find the chart somewhere.
Is there a top 100 of Samplers? I would love to see that!
Let me know if I can help you with the Dutch in the chart. It helps if you know that 1 inch is 2,54 cm. So 14 threads per cm will be the same as 36 count.
Good luck with this huge sampler!
Dutch beauty will be a Masterpiece!
The Chessie is looking good.

Another BIG one; I'm starting to think you're a glutton for punishment! LOL No really, that is beautiful and I'm sure you will enjoy every stitch....can't wait to see it get under way!
The Chessie and Me stitch is adorable, I love most any stitch with sheep in it.
The Sampler is a HUGE undertaking!! It is gorgeous and I am looking forward to watching your progress on it. Mary@stitchingfriendsforever
Years ago I did some cross stitch patterns published in Holland in Dutch of course, bought a Dutch/English dictionary which helped a lot. What was really great though, was the customer at the pharmacy I worked in, who spoke Dutch. I would save my questions for when he would show up and he was always very nice about helping me out. Still have the magazines. I'm hoping you show lots of pictures of your progress on the new sampler!
Looking forward to following your progress on Dutch Beauty! And your little sheep are very sweet :)
Dutch Beauty is one BIG beautiful sampler--would like to stitch it but don't think I will long enough to finish it.
