Saturday’s Goings On

Yesterday, I met up with an old college friend; we went to some antique shops in the area.  I scored some perfect tatting shuttles for the Mad Tatter.  She already has them in her possession, so no pictures!  I also scored some Duchess hoops.  Both are in great condition and the best part of all - they were only $2 each.  Also bought this darning egg and tomato pincushion.  Not pictured are the Tom and Jerry glasses I snatched up.  Remember when you could by grape jelly in a jar and use it as a glass later?  The glasses would have cartoon characters on them.  Fun day, fun purchases.

My friend reminded me of a piece that I stitched for her a long time ago.  Even after seeing it I didn’t remember stitching it, but sure enough, I had signed the back of it and dated it “2001.”  I don’t have any recollection who designed this piece!

Tonight I’m going to start some prework for some upcoming classes I will be taking with Cathy Habermann at our guild retreat in August.  Hope you had a great weekend!

When an elderly friend passed away several years ago, her daughter gave me cross-stitch pieces that I had stitched for her mother over the years of our friendship. There were several that I had forgotten about stitching!

The picture at the bottom reminds me of Margaret and Margaret (I think that's the correct name) charts.
