See, I have been busy stitching lately! Another exchange received - this one by Cathie L in France. This was part of the HoE Needle Roll Exchange! I'm sure you must recognize the design - Rose Sampler from Little House Needleworks.

A Wish Granted...
I forgot about a package I sent off to Chris about 10 days ago...Chris had wished for a needlecase on the Make A Wish board. I pulled this design from my stash - it's the special design that Little House Needleworks designed for the Busy Needle in Arizona. As you can see, I personalized the backside of the needlebook just for Chris. It was kind of hard parting with this one but I know it went to a good home!
Thank you for your comments about the Hardanger doily in my previous post (underneath the biscornu). Yes, this is a piece that I stitched a few years ago. The design is from Satin Stitches (Donna Olson) called Fran's Diamonds.

Biscornu for AmySC
AmySC received the biscornu that I sent to her for the SBEBB biscornu exchange. I wanted to stitch something really colorful (was just in a colorful mood!) As you can see, I personalized the backside with the year and our initials. It made me smile, I'm glad Amy likes it!
That's all from me tonight. Not much to say - got home from work late and now I'm off to stitch...

Beautiful Fall Biscornu from Susan
A package arrived in the mailbox from Susan. Susan had my name for the SBEBB biscornu exchange. She stitched a lovely fall themed biscornu in scrumptious fall colors. It's finished beautifully. Many other goodies were enclosed including some Sampler Threads (also in fall shades), chocolate, lotion, note cards and a little notebook. Great exchange - it made my day! Thank you Susan!
Last night I started working on Annemarie's Neighborhood RR - it needs to be passed on to Carol in September. Maybe in a day or two I can share a photo with you - not much to show just yet. During the week I started LHN Thread Gathering. I've been meaning to stitch this since the limited edition kit first came out. I've only made a little bit of progress, but I'll snap a photo in a day or two and share some pics with you.
Thanks for stopping by. Hoping you are enjoying a wonderful weekend!

Another Exchange Received (and another Sigh of Relief!)
Some of the mail has really been traveling slowly, but today the other exchange that I've been concerned about arrived at its destination. Sandra was my partner on the HoE Summer Quaker exchange. I stitched Quaker Blackbird from Little By Little and finished it as a pinkeep for her. I really like this design and think I'm going to have to stitch it again for myself.
My picture is not so good (too dark) - to see a better picture go here.
Saras asked if the needlebook in my previous post was finished by hand or by machine -- it's all handstitching. I use a ladder stitch to stitch front to back so that my stitches are invisible.
I hope everyone is having a good week. Keep on stitching!

Summer House Exchange Received (Whew!)
Yes, I was sweating this one -- it was mailed so long ago - July 14 to be exact! I knew it would take a while to reach its destination but I didn't think it would take this long!
Thankfully, Lolo received her summer house exchange from me today! As you can see, I stitched this LHN design and finished it as a needlebook. The back side is personalized and dated. The inside is lined with dupioni silk and WDW wool. I hope Lolo enjoys using this to keep her needles.
This week I stitched and finished a biscornu and a needle roll - all for upcoming exchanges. I'm hoping to work on something for ME this weekend; sounds a bit selfish, I know. But I think I need to take a little break from commitment stitching!

Weekend Stitching
It's been a good weekend for stitching - I've been camped out in front of the TV watching the Olympics and working on stitching projects.
First let me share with you a picture of the Fair & Square blocks that I received from Peg yesterday. Aren't they sweet? Thanks Peg!
Last weekend I pulled this UFO out of my basket. I think I started it on New Year's day (2008) or shortly thereafter. I got busy with other projects and it's been sitting. But since it is a birth sampler and the baby's first birthday is coming up in a few months, I decided that I best get it done! This is for a good friend that I work with. The design is from La D Da and it is called Gabrielle Rose. I used DMC threads on 36ct Light Examplar from Lakeside Linens. I used one strand of floss over two threads. For anyone who might consider stitching this one, I would recommend using DMC 645 instead of DMC 646 for the words "I Love You" -- there wasn't enough contrast between 646 and the salmon colored pink (3773). I wanted something that was kind of vintage looking since the family lives in an older farmhouse. Turned out sweet don't you think?
I have two exchanges in transit; one I fear might be lost. I was able to complete the finishing on another project for Make A Wish to be mailed later this week. Check back later in the week; hopefully I will have more pictures for you!

LHN RR for Suzanne
For the past few days or so I've been working on my contribution to Suzanne's LHN RR. Suzanne decided on a nature theme and so I selected "Garden Pleasures" for my square. The birdhouse is taken from on of the designs in the Joy in the Journey booklet. Pretty cute, don't you think? She has three squares completed now on her RR.
I look forward to stitching on Nicki's LHN RR next. Well, I'm off to look for an appropriate design for a biscornu. Darn, I'm going to have to go digging through my stash.

Christmas in July - Ornament for Staci
A small group of us are exchanging ornaments over the next 13 months. This month it was Staci's turn to receive ornaments from us. I decided to stitch the Santa from Prairie Schooler's A Prairie Year (OOP Chart). I think it turned out pretty cute! Check out Staci's blog for a picture of all the ornaments she received in July!
Apparently I forgot to take a photo of the ornament I stitched for Staci! Go here to see the picture Staci took of it!
This weekend we are taking care of my two nieces and a nephew - ages 10, 9, and 5. Lots of activity in our house! I hope to get some stitching in; I would like to finish the LHN RR that I am working on. It needs to be mailed August 11!
Have a great weekend!
