Amsterdam

Yes, I am on the road again. This time for work, not for fun. Although I think that there will be time this week to work in a little bit of fun.

I’m traveling with three co-workers. We left the U.S. on Saturday night and arrived in Amsterdam today; our flights were uneventful (just the way you want them to be!). We went to our hotel, checked in, showered and slept for a little bit and then ventured out in the city. I’m not exactly sure where we were other than that we were in the vicinity of the Anne Frank House. Here are some pictures of our first “taste” of Amsterdam.

We stopped in a small restaurant to grab a bite to eat. We decided to try a traditional Dutch meal called “Dutch Stamppot”. It’s the comfort food of the Netherlands. We sampled three different versions. One was mashed potatoes mixed with kale and topped with sausage, the second one was mashed potatoes mixed with carrots and topped with roast beef, the third was mashed potatoes mixed with sauerkraut and topped with bacon bits. I’m glad we tried it!

Getting ready for bed now as tomorrow is a workday.

I do have some stitching to show. Had time to fill in the tulips at the airport yesterday. This is from Plum Street Samplers, an exclusive design for the Soul Sisters club through the Country Sampler.

More soon!

You are one busy lady! I am wondering and I don't remember if you have already told us but what kind of work do you do that takes you all over the world?

Love the Plum Street Sampler stitch (has a dutch look with the tulips) and how fortunate you are to travel to such beautiful places on business. The Dutch potato mixtures sounds so good...I would love to see some recipes of all the great food you eat on your blog...Have a safe trip, Mary@stitchingfriendsforever
